Individual room control

With a Multi-Room System, you may individually control each Air Conditioning Unit in your home, from turning off the living room Air Conditioning Unit as you depart for dinner to decreasing the temperature in the kids’ bedrooms in Summer before they go to bed. You may adjust the temperature to match your personal preferences and ensure that only one Air Conditioning Unit is running at a time, ultimately saving you money on your electricity bill.

Which Type and Size Heat Pump is Right for Me?
Choosing the right sized heat pump is important to ensure optimum comfort levels; particularly when outdoor temperatures drop. Location, room size, and insulation levels in a room are all factors that determine which heat pump size should be installed.Insulation and building orientation are key factors which can influence the degree of heat loss in a home. An older style home with poor insulation will lose indoor heat at a faster rate than a modern well-insulated home that faces north. The quicker a home loses heat, the bigger the heat pump system will need to be to overcome this heat loss.

Element Air

Outdoor ambient conditions in winter also play a big role in unit size selection. When temperatures drop, the output capacity of the heat pump also drops. Areas of New Zealand that experience sub-zero temperatures in winter will require either a larger capacity heat pump or an upgrade to a Mitsubishi Electric HyperCore® Heat Pump, in comparison to a same sized room in a warmer region. It is therefore very important that units are not undersized in low ambient conditions.

Take the guess work out – use our sizing tool to select the best heat pump for you, based on your region’s average lowest winter temperature. From here, you can book your free in-home consultation using our simple online form.

“Wow this company is awesome, I’d highly recommend them. We live in Auckland and have a holiday home in Turangi. James was so helpful and organised and installed a heat pump for us in under a week. I asked if it could be done (feeling very cheeky) prior to family going down at the weekend and he did it. So amazing to find people like this. He even went down to our house from Taupo on the Sunday to have a look at what was needed. We recently renovated our home in Auckland which has been nothing short of an absolute nightmare with trades people. James is an absolute gentleman. Thank you so much, we really appreciate how quickly you did this for us and how easy its been to communicate with you.”

Maree Eketone

“We recently choose to use element airs service again due to previous satisfaction. We at Ngati Pikao Health Services would like to say thank you so much. All units were installed and running in one day!!, No disruption to the flow of the service. Fast, efficient with no compromise to quality work. It is wonderful to now work in luxury controlled temperature but most important our community we serve are now seen in comfort and frequently show appreciation coming into a pleasant temperature inside from the cold outside. Thank you fast, efficient, professional service who always delivers quality all-round!”

Trish Flood

Dave Jones

“I recently had James install a heat pump in my small rental property. He has a wealth of knowledge about heat pumps, giving me a range of options and prices to choose from and also giving a recommendation as to what would work best in my property. James completed the job to a high standard and followed up the job with photos which I think is great, especially if you own a property and live out of town so can’t see the job in its completion straight away. I would highly recommend his work. Thanks again James!”

Frequently asked questions

Do I leave my multi split air conditioner on all the time?

Heat pumps are the most cost-effective way to use electricity to heat your home during cooler months; however, leaving them running all day and night is not economically efficient. According to Energywise, you should switch off your heat pump when you don’t need it in order to reduce energy waste.

How Long Does a multi split air conditioner Last?

Heat pumps, which tend to be relied on more heavily throughout the year, generally don’t last as long as furnaces and air conditioners. The average lifespan for a heat pump is 10-15 years.

Will a multi split air conditioner save me money?

Ground source and air source heat pumps have significantly lower running costs than traditional heating systems, therefore they may save you a lot of money over time. A ground source heat pump, for example, can cut energy bills by at least 26% compared to a new gas boiler.

What is the difference between an air conditioner and a split system?

Rather than generate heat, as many other systems do, heat pumps simply relocate heat and cooling–making them a much more energy-efficient option. With split system implementation, you have the advantage of being able to specifically target certain areas for heating or cooling and also make continual adjustments as needed. Plus, conventional split systems are less expensive when it comes to repairs and maintenance costs.

What does a multi split system look like in the house?

What Does a Heat Pump Look Like? A typical heat pump system includes two separate components: an outdoor unit, which is similar to a central air conditioner, and an indoor unit, which looks like a gas furnace. The benefit of a multi split system is that you can have a model for the lounge and home office to keep all your home spaces cosy or breezy depending on the weather.
